A couple of Barley Mill afterthoughts

Considering the prolonged and often emotional controversy over the rezoning of the Barley Mill site, we can't help but wonder what it would have been like if the proposal was to provide a multi-building office complex for a large multinational corporation. Or, even more problematic, if someone wanted to locate an airport there.

It called to mind the similar controversy almost a generation ago over the plan to construct a large retail complex on the site of the old Brandywine Raceway. It's impossible to imagine that even the most die-hard community objector doesn't patronize Brandywine Town Center.
