Timetable for new
library is disclosed

Construction of the new Claymont library is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2012 with completion expected in early 2013, according to Marcus Henry, general manager of the county Division of Community Services.

He told a County Council committee that final details regarding donation of 7.5 acres for the facility are being worked out with Commonweath Group.

Council approved changes in the design guidelines governing development of Darley Green to accommodate the library, which had not been planned when the  guidelines were drawn.

Because it is being financed in part by federal stimulus money the project is being held to a short-term time schedule.
