The popular summer
concert series at Bellevue State Park came to a stellar climax with an
eclectic program by the First State Symphonic Band. Of particular note
was its performance of a medley of
Claude-Michel Schönberg - Alain
Boublil music from Miss Saigon which was the equal of anything in
a similar genre by Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops. The community
would benefit greatly if First State Symphonic Band could see its way
clear to provide a more extensive calendar of concerts throughout the
year. (CLICK HERE

If they're going to make a radio commercial promoting Wilmington you'd
think they would use a spokesman who knows how to correctly pronounce
the city's name.
State treasurer Velda Jones-Potter assured attenders at the Wilmington
Blue Rocks game on Aug. 14 that she was diligently safeguarding their
tax money -- except, we suppose, for what her office spent to give them
all tee-shirts as they entered Frawley Stadium.
